Epirus

Arthur Foss, who was stationed in Epirus in 1944-46, and returned thirty years later on a prolonged exploration, writes of the traces to be found there of its long history- Dodona with its great amphitheatre and the ancient stones of the Nekromanteion, recently discovered under an eighteenth century church, which were old when Homer described Odysseus's visit there.
