Knossos North Cemetery: Early Greek Tombs. Volume II. Discussion

Between 1967 and 1979 the British School at Athens, at the invitation of and in collaboration with the Greek authorities, excavated more than 100 Early Iron Age tombs from the Cemetery set one kilometre north of the Palace at Knossos. The rich contents of these tombs offer an uninterrupted series of decorated pottery, iron weapons, bronze vessels and ornaments, luxury objects of gold, ivory and faience from c 1050-630 BC: a major source for our understanding of the art and archaeology of Early Greece.
