Roman Britain

Combining his knowledge of modern archaeology and Roman history, Wacher (U. of Leicester) begins with a study of later Iron Age Britain, its society, its economy and its relations with other cultures. He then examines the effects of warfare on it, and the problems of growing urbanization and its consequences for the essentially rural population.
