The Coritani - Peoples of Roman Britain

The Coritani were one of the largest tribes in roman Britain. Their territory stretched from the Nene to the Humber, and from the North Sea to the hills of Derbyshire.

Within this extensive and varied landscape the level of civic achievement varied from the squalor of the native villages in the valley of the Trent to the comparative splendour of the civitas capital at Leicester. 

In this little book Malcom Todd shares his excavated findings with us over several Coritanian sites.
