The Wedding in Ancient Athens

This work reconstructs the stages of the Ancient Greek wedding ceremony using a long-neglected source of information: vase paintings from the sixth through fourth centuries BC. It should be useful for scholars of Greek vases and to those interested in issues of women in Ancient Greece. There are explanations of technical vocabulary within the text and a glossary of Greek terms is included.
